About Me
Kim is a Girl Scout Leader celebrating her 20th year and has been an active member of the Town and Country Service Unit since 2010. It has been her pleasure to be a scout leader for the girls in the Florence area and interacting and getting to know the girls in the Service Unit at our Service Unit events. Her main goal during her years as a leader and on the SU Team has been to provide the girls with the girl scout experience through badges, trips, cookies, events and camping trips. I was well informed on the experiences my girls had access to by being an active participant on the Service Unit Team and attending SU Leader meetings. I've been a Recruiter, SU Website Manager, Secretary, Cookie Manager, Adult Awards and the Service Unit Manager for 6 years. I have received the Appreciation Award, Helping Hands and the Forever Green Award. There are too many memories to pick just one that would relay the joy I have received from being a Girl Scout leader. I have to say that seeing my daughter's transformation of being a very shy Daisy girl scout turning into a beautiful young woman singing on the stage to the audience has to be one of my top memories. Secondly, to be the proud Troop leader of girls who have earned their Silver Award and their Gold Award - seeing them up there on the stage receiving their award. Additionally, seeing one of my former girls bridge to an Adult girl scout, who created her own non-profit organization, spoke at one of our SU Event and assisted a sister girl scout with her Silver Award. Finally, having an Investiture ceremony at the Juliette Gordon Low's house in Savannah, Georgia. These are all great memories that remind me why I have volunteered for this organization to begin with.
